It was a starry night event for sure on Sunday, 7 August
when Keith Kee Couture celebrated their 10 years of weaving magic into clothes
at Renaissance Hotel with a fashion show, showcasing 10 surprises.
Among the 10 surprises that I can remember (when I wasn't too busy gaping at the beautiful pieces!) comprised of the cheongsam collection, batik, chiffon and lace, Avant Garde, recycled collection (from pieces of leftover materials Keith collected over the years), transformation collection (1 dress transformed into many ways of wearing it), wedding gown, and 10 foot long swallow-tailed tuxedo, among others.
Trust me darlings, when I say starry, it was glam filled,
jaw dropping starry!! It is definitely safe to say that Keith’s signature on his
dresses is the blings of the rhinestones and Swarovski crystals. It was easy to
identify customers of Keith’s from the dresses that they were draped in.
Gorgeously elaborate, and tailored-made to suit each wearer’s curves, I felt
like the arena was one of a peacock parade – all finery spanned to all to
admire.
I especially loved his cheongsams and chiffon dresses, where
Keith brilliantly and boldly matched the colours. Ahh..let the pictures speak
for themselves.
The eye-catching piece that kick-start the fashion show. |
Flowy chiffon material gives this number a ballerina, with a youthful poofy-ness. |
Bold mixture of colours - absolutely love the detailing on the dress! |
Exquisite! |
Personally I didn't like the Avant Garde collection and the Batik collection, hence, the pictures are not featured here. It was a good attempt at diversification, but I still feel that his strength is in his cheongsams and chiffon numbers.
Well then, cheers to Keith – a master of gorgeous creations – to 10
years, and many more to come!
