Please step into My Dressroom

Hey hey ladies!

It's almost the end of the year.. And that time of the year for prom nights as well as Company dinner and dance! Oh and not forgetting that time of the year for wedding ceremonies..

All these upcoming dinner events would certainly need dresses! And you're not gonna be recycling them to all that events .. So lemme introduce to you a place that would answer your wardrobe dilemma.  My Dressroom!

Be bold, be flashy, be tempted!

One fine lovely evening, while taking a stroll along the five-foot-walk way of Taman Tun Dr Ismail, hunting for desserts after a hearty dinner.. My eyes laid upon a clothes rack (out of no where really) along the five-foot-way.. and with it.. I saw... Be Tempted Collection!
How apt I would say.. as I really was tempted by the yellow lights and pretty dresses that lined up in this tiny half-shop! =)

Liberate Yourself - Permanent Hair Removal at Bella Skincare

Some girls have it lucky – they don’t have an overgrown turf (hair) on their legs or underarms. For some of us, to maintain the Diva in us, deforestation of the fuzz is NOT an option, it’s a MUST DO!

So, after many curious and longing gazes at the advertisements that screamed “Permanent Hair Removal” from Bella Skincare, I finally braved myself to book myself for a consultation for underarms hair removal. Bella Skincare does the Intense Pulse Light (IPL) hair removal using Depilux™ Hair Free System.

Happening this Saturday - Go Poppity-Pop at the Chic Pop Market Eight

Have you heard the buzz? The Pop Chic Market (no. 8) is back with a twin surprise!

We are dwindling our fingers in anticipation for D-Day! Have you seen the *gasp* list of shops there? We are waiittttiiingggg…. :)

Fashionable twists to your ponytail

Have long luscious locks, but feeling the heat..? Or trying to out grow your short hair but find it hard to manage? Or perhaps your locks are looking out of shape and due for a trim!

Yes Divas.. I've been in all of those situations.. And now in the 'trying to grow out my short hair' problem.. You know the length where you get the annoying kink at the nape of your neck! I usually try manage that length by going for a perm.. But not doing it right can add another 15 years to your age!

Otherwise... I'll take an elastic band/ srunchie to manage my tresses.. Unglam as that sounds.. Until I found this article on Sugar that would help you girlies with the similar problem, while adding a fashionable twist to your ponytails! Yay!

Casually Carefree

For the long fringe and oval faces, frame your face with layers for this casual yet classy look.. great for a day to night transformation!

Casually Carefree - Angelia Jolie
After curling the hair with a wide-barreled iron, place your strands back into a ponytail just above the occipital bone. Leave a few layers out around the face for a playful finish

Know your hats... And know where to buy 'em

In the previous Know your Hats post... I had let you in a short snippet of the popular hats we fashionistas can use to accessorise on a sunny day out!

And recently our weather has been so unkind that I had people ask me.. 'Where can I get these hats!"... To be honest with you.. I don't get my hats from Malaysia.. Most of my pretty hats are from Vietnam not only cos they are cheap.. They have a wide variety to choose from! Benh thanh Market (with much bargaining) sells fedoras at USD7 and straw hats at USD12 onwards.. If you're not into the bargaining activity Non Som sells straw hats at a set price of VND200k = RM28

Coming back closer to home... Where can we find hats to buy in Malaysia?

Ola Chica! Of polka dots and flowers.

Ola, chica!
A lot of you shopaholics will probably give this shopping mall a miss – how not to, with Sungai Wang, Lot 10 and Pavilion towering over it. What I’m talking about is Fahrenheit Shopping Mall.

Fahrenheit is pretty dead on a weekday, comparing to its neighbour Sungai Wang Shopping Mall. Partly because it's still new and not so known to shoppers (ooh..by the way, Uniqlo is also in Fahrenheit). What used to be the old shabby looking KL Plaza has now undergone a major plastic surgery and has emerged as a brighter, newer Fahrenheit.

So dearies, if you're in the area, and you're sick of shoving through the throngs of people just to move an inch to shop an inch further (psst..as you would in Sg. Wang), then just hop over to the less crowded Fahrenheit.

On the 3rd floor of the mall (I think(, there's a brightly lit shop called Ola.

Tropicana City Mall Bazaar : I came, I saw, but did not conquer.

This weekend bazaar has been beckoning me for eons. I’d heard the call, I heeded it, and here I am writing to you fashionistas/shopaholics about it.

A touch of nostalgia

Remember that time where us girls had to pick a pressie for a brother / boyfriend / guy pal, and the headache of trying to find something special for them? Electronics? - too expensive.. Socks? - too boring (and cheap).. Books? - getting desperate...

As mentioned in Miss Juicy's post previously we stumbled upon Pestle and Mortar at the recent chic pop market... It was a nice surprise to have among all the girly stuff a store selling guys t-shirts packed in pizza boxes!

Introducing Pestle and Mortar
What made me happy was that my shopping companion was able go find something for himself to keep him entertained for a bit while I get to browse on my own without feeling too guilty lol!

So what makes Pestle and Mortar stand out? It's their unusual prints which reminds us of good ol Malaysia thru our eyes...

A Shopping Itch Cure - Aurora Boutique

I have a confession.

On certain boring Saturdays, I’d occasionally get shopping pangs in my gut which slowly develops into an itch that needs to be “scratched”. Self-proclaimed analysts at BreakfastChatz call this syndrome the Shopping Itch.

Fearing for my life at being trampled on at the crowded mega and not so mega-malls, I’d head over to Kuchai Lama for a quieter, more peaceful shopping scratch. There’s this row of shops (scroll down to see the address) which houses the interesting Aurora Boutique that has cured many shopping itches of mine.

Trinkets Trail at Subang Avenue

One sunny Saturday afternoon while looking for food, I stumbled upon the somewhat newly opened Subang Avenue!

I was most intrigued by the 'disco skating' sign on the top most floor of the commercial area... Hence decided to go in to explore... If you haven't visited Subang Avenue ... Sad to say.. The take up of mall tenants are poor... Resulting in what one may call.. a ghostly mall!! Other than a couple of shops located closest to the window facing the main street... And eateries such as Skewers and Taipei Taipei (which I highly recommend for Taiwanese food) ... Subang Avenue still has a long way to go..

What caught my eye though was the small scale bazaar "Trinket's Trail" that is held every Saturday from 11am to 6pm...
