Greenhills Shopping Center (Manila) giving Bangkok Shopping a Run for its Money!

Yup! You heard me right! It is possible that there is another place on planet earth that can satisfy your shopping thirst close to Bangkok's!

Where am I talking about?
It's at... (wait for it...) GREENHILLS SHOPPING CENTER, Manila, Philippines.

How do you get here? Honestly, I have no idea! I grabbed a cab and hopped into it. I'd strongly advise you against taking the MRT/LRT there. We attempted this, and it took us 2 1/2 hours from Malate to the Cubao station only! Mind you, Cubao station wasn't the end of the journey, we would have needed to board the MRT all the way till Ortigas station, and hop on to a jeepney or take another cab. Congestions are not limited to the traffic, it applies to the LRT and MRT as well.

Ok, back to Greenhills SC. See the map above? There are a few malls in one location. The shoppaholic-bargain-hunter in me skipped all other malls and went straight to Shoppesville.

There are security guards at every mall entrance to check your bags. So just open up your bags and show em you've got nothing to hide, and they'd happily let you pass through :)

What was the damage like?

Boy! There were shops with bargain racks of all things PHP200 (approx. MYR14!). Here's the breakdown of prices that I came across:

Boyfriend shirts: 1 for PHP350 (approx. MYR24), 3 for PHP1,000 (approx. MYR70)
Jeans shorts: PHP350 (approx. MYR24)
Lace/knitted tops/dresses: PHP500 (approx. MYR35)
Heels: PHP500 (approx. MYR35)
Cultured pearl earrings: PHP25 - PHP50 (approx. MYR2 - MYR3.50)
Earrings: Start from PHP100 (approx. MYR7)
Necklaces: Start from PHP 100 (approx. MYR7)

If you must drag your boyfriend along, fret not, for there are men's clothes too. 3/4 pants for PHP500 (approx. MYR35), or deposit him in one of the many food outlets there (Krispy Kreme, Jollibee, KFC take your pick!)

It's most tragic that we only had 3 hours to shop here, given our tight schedule, and hence, we couldn't buy the whole mall down!! =P
There is definitely a next time! Greenhills, that, I pledge to you! *heart*!
