Let's Relax in Phuket

Ah! the Monday blues had kicked in, with an extended dense Tuesday. The weekend gone in a whiff. The knots on the shoulders all back from 2 stressful days at work.

This is a far cry from where I was last week. I had the privilege of being in Phuket for a few days. Yes yes, I know, sun... sea... food... ahh..pure bliss! Hence, all the more reason I'm feeling the need to reminisce in the past!

What in the world is Miss Juicy ranting on and on about, you might ask? Well, well, patience darling.

Allow me to introduce you to the ultimate remedy for knotted shoulders, and a stressful day at work - a trip to the Let's Relax Spa at the land of sun, sea, sand and food (Phuket)!

Best part? They have branches in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Pattaya! Awesome!

Ok ok, granted that most of us won't be able to fly over there pronto for a relaxation session, do KIV this for the next time that you're there kays? :) and the keywords there were "reminisce in the past!"

So, if you're walking along Raj U-Thid Rd, which is the road behind Patong Beach (see map attached), you'd notice a whole row of massage parlors with a bevy (herd?) of ladies and lady boys sitting outside their shops, soliciting every other guy who passes by for "Sir, want a Thai ma-sash"?

Let's Spa is indicated by "Phuket A". Phuket B (another branch) had closed.
You, regardless of gender, can always try these massages. They do appear to have a proper massage parlor, some brightly lit, some not so.

I, however, was suckerfied and drawn towards Let's Relax - standing white (pure) and tall, with elegance like a ray of heaven amongst the many other Thai ma-sash-es. It screamed "you don't have to worry about whether or not "happy massages" had taken (will take) place here" as it was:

1) Clean
2) Brightly lit (no hint of hanky panky going on)
3) Not dodgy looking

The price for an hour's massage of Thai Massage costs THB500 (approx. RM50)! 2 hour costing THB700 (RM70)!! *jumps with joy* Check out their full menu here

I'd taken the one hour Thai massage.

The staff were very professional. They started off by stashing our shoes, and giving us comfy slippers, and ushering us towards the foot wash. After cleaning, we were taken up to the 3rd floor (or was it 4th floor), where we each were taken to a personal "room", separated by a curtain. The downside of this is that, you can hear every grunt/snore/talk that goes on in the other rooms. It can be disruptive to the otherwise peaceful environment.

My friend had taken the 30mins shoulder and back massage (THB300), but she did not feel the fulfillment of having a massage, not because the skills were not good, but because the 30 mins is a mere teaser and was not sufficient! leaving her wanting for more! It was that good!

After the cracking and stretching, I had to snap back to earth. At the ground floor, while waiting for reality to kick in, the masseur would serve you a tray of cookies + tea. Yummy!

Nevertheless, I felt utter relaxation, and must have done a little grunting of my own too ;P

Ahh! Now, if only I could be transported back into Let's Relax...Lemme dream a lil' dream divas, while you indulge in a lil' planning to include Let's Relax in your next Phuket trip!
